Hello, I’m Aaron Clifford, the Garden Designer at Carewswood Landscape Design, a new venture from Carewswood Garden Centre. With a background in product design and a passion for horticulture, I offer a unique perspective that blends creativity, functionality, and thoughtful design to create gardens that are both beautiful and meaningful.

Background

My journey into garden design began with a Bachelor’s degree in Product Design and Technology from the University of Limerick, where I honed my skills in innovation, user experience, and sustainability. These principles continue to shape my approach, enabling me to craft outdoor spaces that combine technical precision with a deep appreciation for nature and human connection.

I bring over four years of experience in playground design, contributing to notable projects such as Howth Harbour Playground and Lanesborough Park Playground for Fingal County Council. This taught me the importance of designing purposeful, engaging spaces that are accessible and enjoyable for all.

My time at the University of British Columbia in Canada further enriched my design philosophy. Working on iconic gardens like the Nitobe Memorial Gardens and UBC Rose Garden deepened my understanding of how outdoor spaces can inspire and influence. These experiences strengthened my commitment to creating gardens that seamlessly integrate with their surroundings, offering both aesthetic and functional value.
