Our Design Process
At Carewswood Landscape Design, we believe a well-crafted garden should reflect your personality, lifestyle, and aspirations while seamlessly integrating with its surroundings. Our comprehensive design process ensures every element is carefully considered, from spatial planning to material selection and planting design. Using advanced computer-generated renders, we create a realistic 3D visualisation of your space, allowing you to explore the design before moving into the detailed development phase. Here’s an overview of how we bring your vision to life:

Stage 1: Initial Consultation
The journey begins with a client intake form that is sent out after the purchase of one of our design packages. Followed by an on-site consultation. During this visit, we discuss your vision, needs, and preferences for the garden, while assessing the existing site conditions. This collaborative session helps us create a clear client brief.

Stage 2: Site Survey and Analysis
A thorough understanding of the site is essential for a successful design. We conduct a site survey to capture key details such as site dimensions, levels, utilities, and environmental conditions. For larger projects, we may commission a topographical survey to gather precise data. This stage ensures we have a solid foundation for the design.

Stage 3: Concept Design
Using the insights from the consultation and survey, we develop initial concept designs. These include 2D layouts and, where applicable, 3D visualisations to help you envision the potential of your garden. We also create mood boards to showcase proposed themes, materials, and planting styles. At this stage, the focus is on layout and overall aesthetics rather than detailed specifics. This would be the level of our Concept Masterplan package.

Stage 4: Developed Design
Our 3D visualisation is created using computer-generated imagery (CGI), allowing you to explore the layout and flow of your garden in detail through both images and videos. To ensure the most accurate representation, we build a full 3D model of your site, including all buildings and key structures. This provides a highly realistic preview of how the design integrates with its surroundings.
Once the 3D concept is finalised and approved, we move into the next phase—detailing all aspects of the design. This includes specifying materials, refining spatial arrangements, and developing a comprehensive planting palette. Enhanced computer-generated renders further refine the vision, ensuring every detail is considered before progressing to the finalising stage.

Stage 5: Planting Plan
Plants bring a garden to life, and our planting plans are meticulously crafted to ensure a harmonious and sustainable scheme. The planting plan specifies the exact plants, quantities, and locations, supported by a detailed plant schedule and mood boards showcasing the chosen varieties.

Stage 6: Technical Design
This phase involves producing technical drawings that guide the garden’s construction. These may include setting-out plans, lighting layouts, drainage details, and cross-sections. For projects requiring structural elements, we coordinate with engineers to ensure all designs meet the necessary standards. These drawings serve as a blueprint for bringing the garden to life.

Stage 7: Construction and Project Coordination
At Carewswood Landscape Design, we bring your vision to life with our in-house landscaping team, handling all aspects of the construction process. From sourcing materials to managing timelines and costs, we ensure a seamless installation. If you prefer to work with your own landscaper, we can coordinate the logistics, including material procurement and scheduling, to keep the project running smoothly.

Stage 8: Planting and Finishing Touches
Once construction is complete, we personally oversee the planting to ensure every element is positioned correctly, bringing the design to its full potential. With the final touches in place, your new garden will be ready to enjoy.
